In trouble for reading?

What book did you get in trouble for reading? (For example, perhaps your parents were upset with the fact they discovered you were reading a certain book.)

Comments:
I got in trouble for reading To Kill A Mockingbird in math class.

"The Impatient Virgin"...
I don't recall the author as this happened about 60 years ago when there were few 4 letter words in print, and salacious content was limited to circumspect innuendo. My father exclaimed his shock when he saw the title and said that the book was not proper for a teen-aged girl. Of course, this all happened before the days of TV.

Some kids book of ghost stories...

SCANDAL!

I didn't get in trouble for reading....I got in trouble for writing the most contraversial book in history. Its called the Even More Testament to Jesus Christ. and if you join us in our quest to rid the world of satan I promise you will be saved in the after life.

A.E Waite's "Book of Ceremonial Magic". -Parents

D. Adams' "So Long And Thanks For All The Fish" - 9th grade social studies teacher.

Never Kill a Naked Bus Driver.

Seriously.

"The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test"

was "caught" by parents reading and they took it away!

Again D. Adams But it was the whole series, no one wanted me to read it (before the movie). I think because of the somewhat (i you're a believer) blaspehmous tones and ideas. Though i don't think Adam's meant it that way

I used to read "The lord of the Rings" in every study hall... I still made it through that year and never saw the value in homework again

At a young age (about 13) I had in my possesion a magazine depicting the unclothed female form.
They weren't impressed.
I was.

"BRYNE! PUT THAT BOOK OF IMMAGINATION DOWN AND FOCUS ON THIS LESSON! WE'RE LEARNING ABOUT HOW TO THINK HERE, HOW TO BE GREEDY AND GET WHAT YOU WANT! GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE COULDS!!!"

-My way of rermembering being caught reading one of my many fantasy books in econ then being yelled at for being unrealistic and not paying attention to the lesson (which was one of those ones where the teacher tells you the way things are, one that was so easy that I almost aced the class by mimicing the teacher's opinions rather than paying attention and learning something from his subjective books) Huh. That was refreshing. Sorry for the rant/recall.
