No. I think one of the things that separates human beings from animals is that the animal adapts to it's environment. Cold? grow some fur. To small? evolve yourself bigger. A human simply alters the environment. Cold? build a house. To small? get a gun. get some friends. get civilization. So actually, people would be more likely to adjust the wind to a more suitable speed than to adjust the sails
